Kinkan, known as Kamquat, originates from China. It is like the petite version of mandarin orange and is best identified by its bright & shiny orange peel. Crunchy and firm to be the bite, its aromatic flavor when fully ripe can be experienced during its season from November to March. Kinkan can be eaten fresh or preserved and made into jams and jellies. In China, they are usually candied.The branches of the kumquat trees are used for Christmas decorations in some regions of the United States and worldwide.
