Kitorou is an original varietyf from Tottori prefecture that which was registered in March 2010. It is slightly large in size, has a smooth attractive round shape and with sugar content. The plump fruit is soft for a sweet persimmon and has a smooth and moist texture.
If you slice in half, you may observe black parts like eyeballs in the core. This is caused by a mass of "tannin" which is a kind of polyphenol in cavities of fruit core with few or no seeds. Due to the low production volume, it is only shipped during the short period from early October to mid-October.
